Comedian’s wisdom

Carlin once pointed out that, when we’re driving, anyone going slower than us is an idiot, and anyone going faster is a jerk. I would like to add to that such tidbits as; anyone voluntarily arising earlier than myself is crazy, and anyone making excessive noise after I’ve retired to the solitude of my room is an asshole. Anyone who doesn’t laugh at my wit has a rod up their ass, and anyone who can’t tell me exactly what they think of me is a coward.
Welcome to our self-centered society. Don’t tell me none of those thoughts ever occurred to you.
Another nerdy step

Tomato Torrent has stopped working for some reason. It might be the new laptop, I suppose, as I don’t recall if I’d tried it out on here before today, but the new internet could just as easily be to blame. Anyway.
Rather than check a million things to figure it out, I scoped out an alternative. XTorrent crashed on me, but BitRocket works… and it’s so much cooler than Tomato Torrent! And I don’t care what you can do with it, but the fact is that one glimpse at the “Progress” tab for a download makes it instantly clearer how filesharing works. It resembles a DNA bar, and every piece of the file that is downloaded is added like a gene being turned on. It’s really not that amazing, but I am nonetheless geekishly excited about it.
On another nerdish note, I need to spend some free time figuring out this new Time Machine program that came on the new MacBook. It reminds me that I have been meaning to back all my digi-junk on the external drive. If only I could back up all my tangible extraneous crap on some drive as well; storage would be a whole lot simpler.
Here we go again

Seriously, I could set up three sites a day, but creating content only seems like an attractive option every fortnight or so. I’m not going to bother mentioning this one right now to anyone I know. Maybe I’ll wait until I have ten entries, maybe I’ll just let it sit, see if anything happens.
Ah, and hello, webworld.
